Sea Swimmer ...
Being a Devon girl and mostly living by the sea throughout my life I have a real connection to nature particularly the ocean . I have been swimming in the ocean since I can remember. Initially I swam only at weekends but soon became addicted to that cold water buzz ! And quickly noticed the benefits which spured me on to go in every day !
The connection to the community and my fellow wild swimmers sparked my creativity. As I watched the common themes in each swim group , the laughter and the shared experience of feeling like we were all in it together made me pick up my sketch pad and start drawing these wonderful scenes on the beach .
My getting dressed scene paintings are my best sellers , along with people huddled in dryrobes with just their cold noses poking out of all the gear on trying to warm up with a cup of tea in hand . I like to try and tell a story with my art and also include a bit of humour. We need much more laughter in the world and I love that people laugh when they see a familiar swim scene on one of my cards .
In 2020 I painted my first wild swim scene of me and all my swim group . And since then the paintbrushes have been working hard to bring not only cards and products but beautiful seascapes that you can hang in your home .
I’ve painted many commissions for swim groups across England , Scotland and Ireland .And even a few in Europe.
As well as being a keen swimmer I also love paddle boarding so you will see a bit of sup also !
When I don’t have a paintbrush in my hand you will likely find me hiking with my 2 spaniels and my husband Martin . Or swimming and paddle boarding with my teenage boys.
